Artist Statement:
GUSTAVO CASTRODAD

Fine artist, set designer, videographer and graphic designer. He graduated with high honors from the University of Puerto where he began his participation with the playwright Jorge González, the rolling theater of Rosa Luisa Márquez and collaborations with Professors Lowell Fiet and Viveca Vázquez. He has participated as a plastic artist exhibiting his works in several collectives including the Contemporary Art Museum. He was named artistic director of Puerto Rico High Fashion Week, for which he won a national design award for the publication of the program, and Elite Model Look for PR. He has worked as a graphic designer for Andanza, Teatro Iré, El Timbre, Rojo Chiringa, Teatro Brief, Viento de Agua and La PVC among others. It was the only nomination for best set design for his work in “La Estación Eléctrica” ​​(2004) by Jorge González. Among his latest works is the scenography and poster art of the play “Many Words” by Sylvia Bofill. He currently works as Art Director for improv group Teatro Breve.

Ha sido el diseñador y creador de las marcas: Emprendimiento Creativo, Teatro Breve, Inversión Cultural, Piscolabi, Mad Love, Dimelo mío entre otras. Ha trabajado como diseñador gráfico para las compañías Andanza, Yubá Iré, Viento de Agua y La PVC. Entre sus proyectos filmicos ha creado y dirigido videos para: Fundación Mapfre, Teatro Breve, Cambio en Clave y Café Yaucono. Recientemente este verano estreno como director y productor el video largo “Chente Ydrach: Live desde San Juan” Actualmente es fundador y director de arte en Guillermo Domínguez Inc. un grupo que se dedica a desarrollar conceptos, contenido y estrategias creativas para redes sociales.
